Here’s everything you need to make a perfect vanilla sponge cake:
1 cup (125 g) of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup (150 g) of granulated sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup (120 ml) of whole milk, at room temperature
Yields: One 8-inch round cake (double the ingredients for a layered version)
