What's happening in our ears?
In our ear, or more precisely, the vestibule, are carbonate crystals called otoliths. Their role? They help the body detect movement and access to the network. They interact with sensory hairs, similarly to their function.
Sometimes, however, these crystals move where they shouldn't. The brain perceives the room as spinning even though everything else is stationary. This is called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
