Not all red spots are harmless. In some cases, they can be an early sign of skin cancer, particularly melanoma, the most dangerous form.
Signs to watch for:
spots that change color or shape;
formations that do not heal over time;
areas of bleeding or peeling skin.
Early detection of skin cancer increases the chances of a complete cure. See a dermatologist at least once a year, especially if you have fair skin, many moles, or a family history of the disease
